The Western Wind Foundation SCHOLARSHIP-BASED DANCE EDUCATION PROGRAM
With statistics evidencing poverty rates twice as high as the state’s average in segments of the Palm Springs School District, this program is 100% grant-based and sources students in dance programs within the Greater Palm Springs area, providing a unique opportunity to develop as dancers. We work directly with local educators, as well as an open application process, in granting 65-80 Dance Enrichment scholarships to Coachella Valley Students aged 13-19 years old. The program is made possible through a grant from the Western Wind Foundation, and many scholarship donors, underwriting the cost of student participation.
The application process is open now until January 15, 2020, or until all spots are filled, APPLY TODAY. Download and complete the application, and return to:

Intensive Dance Training will be provided by the Artist in Residence and include four hours of training each day: two hours of intensive dance training and two hours of dance education, totaling 24 hours which will prep students for the Dancin' in the Streets, and Community's Finest performances in March.
ATTENDING THE MAIN EVENT FULL DRESS REHEARSAL
Student training reaches its crescendo at the conclusion of the Education Program where they will attend the entire dress rehearsal for the MAIN EVENT. The dress rehearsal avails students a behind-the-scenes view into a professional production: the technical aspects of sound, lighting, and special effects. Here students will also experience a special connection to the professional performance, as their training mentors, BrockusRed, take the stage. At the conclusion, students will be invited to discuss their experience of the Program and complete a survey.
